About us
Who are we?
For a quarter of a century, Dr. Jane and Michelle have worked side by side on their veterinary path, delivering unparalleled care and empathy in every facet of pet health. Their deep bond with owners through the hardest and most vulnerable time in pet parenting has fueled a commitment to dignified aftercare, ensuring every farewell is as gentle and eco-friendly as possible. This passion drove their desire to co-found Nature’s Pawprint. Discover more about who they are in their personal bios below.
Jane Linden, DVM
Dr. Linden, a Tufts Veterinary School graduate, founded Providence River Animal Hospital in 2004. With a BA from Brown and an MSW from Boston University, her social work background complements her veterinary expertise. In 2023, she started Pets at Peace, focusing on in-home euthanasia. Her MSW enriches her approach, ensuring a compassionate farewell for pet owners. She aimed to make the end-of-life journey complete by ensuring that aftercare for pets was gentle, dignified and eco-friendly. This inspired her to co-found Nature's Pawprint Aquamation in 2025.
Living in Providence with her family and two dogs, Dr. Linden blends her love for nature with eco-friendly practices, enjoying bird-watching and biking.
Michelle Sylvester, CAETA certified technician
Michelle's journey in veterinary medicine began in 1999, blossoming from a kennel assistant to helping found Providence River Animal Hospital in 2004. As the head technician and staff manager, she cultivated comforting environments, ensuring pets and their owners experienced the utmost in care. With a certification in companion animal euthanasia from CAETA, she has championed dignified end-of-life care. In 2025, she co-founded Nature’s Pawprint Aquamation, combining this expertise with eco-friendly practices through water cremation.
Michelle resides in Massachusetts with her family and three cats, finding joy at the beach, collecting sea glass for her jewelry business, or cheering on her boys at baseball.
